How to Install Golf Cart Seat Covers with Velcro & Staples (Denago)

To install a seat cover with velcro, we recommend using a steamer, spray adhesive, silicone release spray, staple gun, staple remover, cutting pliers, and scissors.

Before getting started, remove the plastic backing from the seat cushion bottom.

Use staple remover & pliers to remove the staples, not your fingers, due to sharp edges.

Roll the cover back carefully, not pulling too much.

Carefully separate the velcro while holding the foam side, so you don't pull up the velcro and separate it from the foam.

Once the cover is separated, any part of the velcro that was separated from the foam can be repaired with contact cement or general adhesive spray.

If you don't glue it back down, it won't hold the cover properly in place and will look baggy and loose.

Carefully align all of your velcro to the foam cushion.

Remember, if you need to remove it, hold the velcro and the foam.

Steam not only irons out any fold marks but also allows for better stretching of the material.

Next, use the staple gun to attach the cover to the plastic backing.

Begin stapling at the center to secure the cover in place. This approach helps keep the cover steady while allowing you to properly align the ends for an even fit.

Tension pulling on the material is more about alignment than stretching. Make sure not to over stretch.

Staple the corners and then even tension on the sides to get a clean finish on top.

Reattach the backing and install it on your golf cart.

For the seat backs, it may be easier to remove the seat belts to make the seat more maneuverable, and the staples more accessible.

Remove the staples using a staple remover & pliers.

Carefully, roll back the cover to protect the foam.

Fix any velcro broken loose from the foam.

Start in the center, aligning the velcro

Roll the material over the seat, making sure to align the seams with the edge of the seat foam.

Add some starter staples to hold the cover in place before steaming.

When steaming it’s important to continually move the wand, to prevent burning the material.

Start in the center, working your way outwards.

Steam makes the material softer and more pliable. Be careful, the material may be hot.

Reattach the seat belts.

Remove the armrests and unzip the armrest covers.

Using adhesive spray, attach plastic to the top of the arm rest foam.

Apply dry silicone to reduce the friction of the cover on the foam, so it will slide over better.

Trimming some of the material with scissors may be necessary at the armrest insertion point.

Reattach the armrests by pushing in and turning over.
